Around 12 Maoists including Telangana Maoists party secretary Hari Bhushan alias Jagan have been killed on the bordering areas of Chhattisgarh and Telangana on Friday.

According to the initial reports, one policeman has also suffered injuries in the alleged encounter. The bodies of the slain maoists is being shifted to Bhadrachalam Hospital for post-mortem. The toll is likely to go up, according to sources.

Condemning the police encounter, writer Varavara Rao alleges that police detained Maoists in Telangana and took them to Chattisgarh where police killed Maoists in fake encounter.

The incident comes nearly two and a half months after eight members of CPI (ML) Chandra Pulla Reddy Bata faction in an exchange of fire at Mellamadugu forest area in Tekulapalli mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district on December 14, 2017.
